Volga White was born on 01 January 1944 on a farm in the Northern Cape.
Her abstract and impressionistic paintings in various mediums are delicate, dramatic and enduringly thoughtprovoking.
She taught art and worked in public relations, travelled extensively,including a short sojourn to South America, ran her own gallery and lived in many places in South Africa. She has been a fulltime artist since 1984.
Solo exhibitions at Everard Read, Johannesburg , Knysna Fine Arts, KKNK , Seapoint,and many group exhibitions including a two man joint exhibition in Gallerie Plett-Zeist ,Holland .
She has work included in private and corporate collections in Australia, Britain, Ireland, Scotland, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Netherlands, Mauritius, United states, Germany, New Zealand.
She appeared on Top Billing SABC, interviewed on radio stations such as SAFM.and in magazines such as Habitat.
